Description

Kind of working on a new concept... set in the 19th century, with all manners of strange creatures brought to life.

Wish I had more time to spend on it, but work has me stretched really, really, really thin right now so this is it. No more time to spend on it

(Picture a little in celebration of my webpage working again. Now I just have to fix so I can update it again! Expect a BUNCH of new wallpapers there when I can.)

Want closeups? Go clicky. I spent ages on those cards :]

You've tried to get very otherworldly with the cards, glowing etc... but i think in one or two cases you've distorted the perspective a lil too far. As a period piece the character costume works very well.

May I notice that your male characters are feminized. All of them. It is ok when you paint elves but this is perfectly healthy human male of a breeding age. Put some beard, more hair and make them more muscular.
Hey, don't attack me now. Iam just saying what I am thinking. I am your BIG fan.

-cracks up at the comment above her-

that's too funny.. specially when i SEE people that look like her boys outside every day when walking around.

it's lovely linda =] .. he seems to be floating a bit there, but oh well.. and those cards are spiffy!

Thank you so much everyone :] He's -supposed- to be floating, though. He might live in 19th century London, but he's not human.

As for the effeminate thing... well, duh. Heheh, don't know what else to say than that. If someone hasn't caught up on my preference for painting androgyny by now, well, there's really very little I can do about it. Want to look at real boys, or real girls, or real -things-, there are tons of artists that do that.

I'm fascinated by androgynous things, and will continue to paint them :]

Might you one day paint a dude with a hairy beard someday? :) (or have you?)

ANYWAY this is superb work, as usual!

Avatar Enayla

 11/09/03 @985

When someone pays me, I'll paint a dude with a hairy beard ;] For as long as I paint pictures for 'me', you'll see lots more pretty girls and pretty boys, and pretty people who seem to be something, or anything, in between both genders.

Again, thank you tons, everyone :)

That peice is haunting - brilliant, but something about it is creepy - there is a silent undertone to it. Or maybe its just the glowing cards with skeletons on them. :) +4

Avatar InuPoke

awesome, just like the rest of your works. Tell me, though: you like fantasy; have you ever done (or considered) doing other humanoid creatures like vampires or werewolves? I love the detail on all of your works (the cards on this one especially). +5

Anyone that knows your artwork knows your males are always pretty... beautiful. That's one of your trademarks, and we love it. I'm always astounded by your attention to detail and this image is so highly detailed in the cards, it's just perfection. Can't wait to see more of this series!

linda! this is absolutely stunning, I think this is my favorite of yours so far, I love the clothes and I have this thing for scarves so of course I love the scarf too. Also that small figure in the window, how clever, you never cease to amaze me, I love your textures on the street and walls, amazing work. Also the figure is beuatifull regardless of weather it is male or female it really doesnt matter, it is beautifull and draws everyone regardless of thier taste or judgement, dear lord there is so much I could learn from you, too bad you dont teach at my school :), wonderfull work as usuall.

Fantastic work as usual Linda - This ones got a very strange feel to the subject, I like it a lot, great clothing, fab cards.

Avatar Dreln

 11/12/03 @029

Wow, I'm still being amazed by the work that is posted here. (I'm new) The clothing is really well done and the wrinkles are placed well. The hands are nicely shaded and posed, I really like it.

The sharpness of the cards that aren't in the foreground throw me off a bit though. Especially the cards on the ground, their sharpness doesn't match the soft texture of the ground they are on. Just me 2 cents though:)

Back to things I like, The detail on the cards and the design are very well done. I like how you almost miss that there is a guy standing in the window watching the character. Good stuff. Have to go check out the rest of your stuff now:)

pretty boys? HMM No i think i read that Linda is making GENDER LESS species here..
