Description
So, I thought I'd share this one here, too, because someone asked why I hadn't - and there wasn't really any good reason.Technically, this one might not be as advanced as some others I've done, but emotionally - it has a lot more personal impact for me. It's a self-portrait, of myself and my cat, and more importantly - what the summer felt like. We've spent a lot of time in the woods outside my parents' cabin this summer, chasing dragonflies, listening to birds and just generally letting go of the rest of the world.
It's also the only self-portrait I've done that shows the side of me that my friends get to see.
I even managed to include my monkey-feet.

I love this one. Especially the 'forest-feel' about it... A very nice atmosphere.

... it was hard to describe, because I haven't seen the face. Neither I wasn't sure if it was big cat or bear or something else. I didn't have good view and was scared. Only thing I am sure is that raider looks similar, but wear different suit and longer hear than on the picture.
Yes, I was quick enough and have taken photo , but I won't show it to you because I am affraid.
.... d....d ... does Azrael eat photographers ?

I saw it in dA and it's one of my favourite works around there. Well, first of all I love cats, then you're with such an happy and funny expression, and all together the result is great!
The magic about this work make us dream... 9/9

I cannot really critique anything, even if it is less complex than your other works, i am lost dreamingly in it. & tha you have conveyed your expressions well in it, even if i did have something to critique, it would be null considering the success of expression the picture. Well done!

It's so difficult for me to just let go of what things are SUPPOSED to look like and just paint them like I feel like painting them, but I had so much fun doing it. I'm doubly thrilled to hear that this piece is appreciated as it's very personal to me, a lot of 'me' in it.
And yea, those are flowers overlapping the forest
The overlapping paintings tecnique is awesome for texture work. I learned it from Craig Mullins (also known as 'God', haha) back in the days.

Am I right, did you use a stamping technique for the leaves, and photo manipulation for the background? Or is your technique just 'that complex'?
Anyway, great work, fun piece.

I think I d like a little bit more of roundness for the cat, and a little bit of heviness for you, so you would be sitting more firmly on the cat, well in case you re floating above the cat a bit.
Very cool textures. Can I borrow your wings? They re adorable.
Good job.

also, there's something wrong with the left arm. Where it meets the right arm and goes behind it, something weird happens

i like the left-front foot of azrael, it;s somekind of funny way of moving, stepping at a cartoonish (almost like the elephants in disney's jungle book, if you know what I mean) kind of way!!!
